Our Owner’s Project Management (OPM) team managed the renovations of a deteriorated chilled water system for one of our higher education clients. The renovations in this 57,000 square foot space, including faculty and staff offices, classrooms, and student services across seven levels, involved the replacement of all water piping, risers, fan coil units, insulation, and most delicately, new Siemens Building Management System (BMS) controls – which required more care in coordination, documentation, installation, and transfer to operations. The work also included the replacement of over +/- 500 existing lighting fixtures with new LED fixtures that were integrated into the BMS controls.
Through very careful coordination efforts and protection of all faculty belongings during construction, and due to the overwhelming success of such challenging projects as the mechanical and lighting upgrades, Cref has since been awarded OPM services on additional projects at the university.
